Sunday's Globe included the full story on the MassMoCa-Christopher Buchel dustup and it appears pretty much as we thought. A good museum with perhaps not the world's greatest bargaining skills ran afoul of a talented asshole. Too bad, because Building 5 installations are often impressive just based on their scale, and this one promised that plus strong political content. But Buchel seems to have proved unbearable.

The problems there have actually ended up benefiting museum visitors. I happened to be at MassMOCA last weekend and enjoyed a reduced admission fee (just $10) because that particular huge gallery was closed. But I made up for the discount by buying lunch there and some stuff at the gift shop.
