I'm still going to eat tekka maki after Jeremy Piven pulled out of David Mamet's "Speed-The-Plow" on Broadway on his doctor's advice, claiming exhaustion due to high levels of mercury in his blood, perhaps caused by a twice-a-day sushi habit. I mean...really? But I have learned to be careful with online advertising, after clicking to the New York Times story about it today and finding the following unfortunate confluence of the article about Piven's pullout with an ad for his presence:
The producers don't seem too happy about Piven's move, or entirely convinced by the sushi defense. Mamet told Daily Variety, “My understanding is that he is leaving show business to pursue a career as a thermometer.”
