Art and the economy, chapter 942: On Friday only the American Repertory Theatre will offer $25 tickets for early performances of its current season shows. “Given the challenging economic climate, we want to give the opportunity for price conscious patrons to be able to attend the A.R.T. at a lower price,” Ruth Davidson, A.R.T.’s Director of Marketing and Communications said in the announcement. The remaining productions of the 08-09 Season are Chekhov’s "The Seagull," Samuel Beckett’s "Endgame," the world premiere of "Trojan Barbie" by Christine Evans, and David Mamet’s "Romance." Tickets can be purchased in person from 9a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Box Office at 64 Brattle Street, Harvard Square, Cambridge; as well as on line at www.amrep.org, or by phone at 617-547-8300.
