I've never been able to stomach than five minutes of "A Prairie Home Companion." Sue me. It's just all too freakin' precious. Some people find Garrison Keillor's mellow tones as host to be soothing and entertaining. He makes me want to put on the Dead Kennedys, crank it up and start doing shots. But that's just me. So I won't be at Tanglewood on June 27 when the summer home of the BSO hosts a live broadcast of APHO. If you're going, though - and again, I don't advise it - you'll want to know that Steve Martin and Martin Sheen have been added to the guest list. Sheen - who was great in "Apocalypse Now" and saintly as the president on "West Wing" - will be acting with Keillor and company. Eh. But Martin will be playing banjo, with his pals The Steep Canyon Rangers. That's almost worth going. In case you missed it, he actually has a hit banjo album out. Vanity Fair reviewed a May performance. There's a video of him playing (from 2007) below. Tanglewood tix, $19-$70, through www.tanglewood.org or 888-266-1200.
