The Boston Early Music Festival's production of Monteverdi's 1632 opera "L'Incoronazione di Poppea" got mostly good notices, but it's not even the only production in town this month. Over at the Cambridge Family YMCA Theatre, the two-year-old OperaHub group will present a plugged-in "Poppea" this Thursday through Sunday. it's their first early-music foray, but that doesn't mean they'll abandon their edgy approach. This "Poppea" comes complete with electronic soundtrack and modern dance, under the direction of company co-founder Jordan Rodu. Even their press pix are, um, offbeat. Soprano Kathryn McKellar (Poppea, left) and mezzo-soprano Amanda Keil (Nerone) lead the cast. The fully-staged production will be sung in Italian with English supertitles. And the best part: Tix are free, by emailing tickets@operahub.org with your name, phone number, performance date,
and number
of seats requested.
