There will be no early end to the Brandeis-Rose Art Museum saga nor will classical music lovers soon relinquish their scrutiny of WGBH's acquisition of WCRB. The Rose case has more substance, really, but in both there's a horde of highly intelligent, highly opinionated and unlikely-to-be-silenced Bostonians involved. The latest... Busy with his usual torrent of reviews, Greg Cook finally weighed in on the Rose report and the resignation of Brandeis President Jehuda Reinharz. He addresses the ins and outs of the report's recommendations with finesse, but starts off with a bang: "Brandeis Board Chairman Malcolm L. Sherman should depart too." ... WGBH emailed with the news that they've made a web page where you can "Get the Latest Updates, Announcements, and Schedules About WGBH's Purchase of WCRB." Right now what's there is a letter from WGBH honcho Jon Abbott saying they're "pleased with the enthusiasm our plans to acquire WCRB have generated among our colleagues in the cultural community and among classical music listeners." OK, but there's no mention of the news that unsettled some WGBH listeners: the unceremonious dropping of DJ Richard Knisely. As reported by the Exhibitionist, Knisely got his walking papers supposedly for financial reasons a few weeks before the $14 million WCRB bid became public. Hmmm....
