CORRECTED: The original post below and the link from @BostonTweet sent you to an outdated file, which I should have noticed. You want to go here to see the 2009 Charlie Card discounts, which include 10% off any fall or spring class at the Boston Children's Theatre, 10% off a regularly priced ticket at Central Square Theater, $5 off at the Huntington Theatre Company ("when available"), and free shoe rental at Twentieth Century Bowling in Hyde Park. There are scads of discounts to museums and other attractions as well. If you've got a Charlie Card, you should check it out.
Once in a while the random flotsam in the Twitterverse turns up a gold nugget. The update from @BostonTweet was pretty simple. "Charlie Card Discounts: 10% at Upper Crust, free app at CPK, 10% at Fajitas & Ritas, 15% at Coldstone. Entire PDF list http://bit.ly/1w7EL8." Suddenly I felt my MBTA card burning a hole in my pocket. (Which was weird, because it was in the drawer...) Now, 10% off the one slice I ever eat at Upper Crust is not going to amount to much, but I scanned the .pdf to see what arts discounts there might be. And lo and behold there are some decent ones. Boston Ballet offers $10 off full-price tickets, excluding the annual gala and "The Nutcracker." Boston Children's Theatre offers 10% off weekday mainstage performances - handy if you're bringing a gang of kids. Huntington Theatre Company offers $5 off tickets when available. The ICA offers $1 off full-price admission, not so much, but the Milky Way Lanes offers a free shoe rental! There are scads of discounts to museums and other attractions as well. If you've got a Charlie Card, you should check it out.
