Lots of exciting stuff going on for the
North Shore Jazz Project, the musical and cultural brainchild of Chava Hudson and Henry Ferrini. This Sunday they'll host a fundraiser called Jazz in the Barn at the Crane Estate in Ipswich. With a 4-6 p.m. picnic time outside if it's nice and a 6-8:30 indoor concert at the Barn, it's hard to beat. Musicians include Tom Palance, Mark Earley, Bert Seager, John Hunt, John Lockwood and Orville Giddings, many of whom are local. There will be doughnuts and cider from Russell Orchards and other treats for purchase, including beer and wine inside during the show. Tix are
$17 online, $20 at the door. Also coming up on Oct. 16, the Project will present two shows by Joe Lovano (
right) in the new Backstage Bistro at the reopened North Shore Music Theatre in Beverly. Music is at 7 and 9; tix are $28
here.
