Chorus pro Musica named Dr. Betsy Burleigh as its fifth Music Director in its sixty year history. Burleigh, Music Director of the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh, will assume her duties at the close of the current season in June. She succeeds Jeffrey Rink, who led the chorus for 17 years until his departure last fall to etach at Northwest Florida State College and to lead the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra. ... Donald Monan, SJ, Professorship in Theater Arts at Boston College for the 2008-09 academic year, will end her sojourn here by directing a benefit production of the critically-acclaimed musical Songs for a New World. (That's Campbell at the piano, with some BC folks.) The show at BC's the University’s Robsham Theater Arts Center will benefit ASTEP, a human service organization that brings artists to impoverished areas to educate young people, and the BC ARts Council.
