In what's either a nice lark or a painful sign of how the economy is shaping everyone's thinking these days - or possibly both - members and staff of the Boston Symphony Orchestra will be staging a 150-mile relay run to Lenox on June 29-30 to mark the opening of the Tanglewood season. And they'll be raising funds for the BSO along the way. Organized by bassist Todd Seeber and violinist James Cooke, both longtime runners, the trek will start at 2 p.m. on the 29th at the Symphony Hall Stage Door and conclude at 1:15 p.m. on the 30th at the Main Gate to Tanglewood. The route will be broken up into 32 relay stages of 3.5 to 6 miles. Along with Seeber and Cooke, the runners will include a dozen other musicians, six BSO staffers and assorted family and friends. The runners are all getting sponsors, with the money to go to the BSO. You can donate here.
