Another cozy New England tradition returns, with a new digital wrapper: Tickets for Holiday Pops go on sale Monday at 10 a.m. at the Symphony Hall box office or via SymphonyCharge at 617-266-1200 or 888-266-1200. But standing on line is so old-fashioned. Tix go on sale two hours earlier - that's 8 a.m. Monday - at BostonPops.org. This year, tix are $27-$122, for shows that run Dec. 9-27. That includes six special kids’ matinee concerts with Keith Lockhart and the orchestra on Dec. 12, 13, 18, 19, 20 and 24, where parents can bring cameras to take photos of their children with Santa after the concert. Also available on Monday are downloads of the Pops' new arrangement of "The Twelve Days of Christmas,” recorded last holiday season. Available at www.BostonPops.org/digital, the piece is available in standard MP3 (320 kb/sec) for $3.99; AIFF hi definition stereo for $4.99; and WMA Windows Media hi-definition for $4.99. The download will also be available at www.Amazon.com.
Does this mean I'm going to start seeing more of those "No Christmas Pops? No HOLIDAY Pops!" stickers from the Golden Music Memories of Yesteryear cranks?
