"Book of Mormon" opens in "South Park"

Got a last minute Globe assignment to step in and review the opening of "Book of Mormon" at the Colonial, a third-time-around touring production that somehow I hadn't seen before. Hilarious, heartfelt and so, so filthy. A truly terrific mix of the "South Park" creators' worldview with the Broadway polish of the "Avenue Q" guy. Fantastic attention to detail and a story that keeps moving forward, without a trace of the eat-your-peas feeling of so many touring warhorses.
